Club nights are currently suspended.
The following was produced for the limited sessions we have been able to run when fewer restrictions were in place. We hope to be able to resume sessions once the restrictions are eased.
Full details and Covid guidance will be sent to those booked in for the sessions.
EA have produced a helpful flow chart to show what you should do if you attend training and then come down with Covid symptoms/ have a positive Covid test/ are asked to self isolate by NHS Track and Trace. Please take a few minutes to have a look.
Runners joining the sessions will need to state that they have read the following action plan and risk assessments before booking on a session:
Please email any queries to our Covid coordinator – firstname.lastname@example.org.
The usual club sessions Below are currently suspended
Mondays and Thursdays
We have a range of groups which generally run for between 45 minutes and an hour at anywhere from 6 to 10 minute mile pace. These are fairly informal and routes tend to be decided on the night. Members arrive at reception in the Water Sports Centre from 6.45pm to run at 7.00pm. We generally have 40-60 runners on a club night.
We have a duty runner to ensure everyone is made welcome and they will either find new runners a suitable group or run with them initially.
In the summer we tend to run to Radcliffe-on-Trent and beyond, or along parts of the Grantham Canal. In the winter, routes are through Edwalton, West Bridgford and the city centre.
You can see some of our training routes on Strava:
- Suspension Bridge via Lady Bay
- Toll Bridge and Meadows
- Short Town
- Gamston, Edwalton and Lady Bay
- Ferry Inn, Compton Acres and West Bridgford
- Lady Bay Loop
- Lady Bay, BBC and Canal
After our Monday and Thursday sessions, members can use the changing facilities at the Centre and on a Thursday some of us usually head to the Poppy and Pint in Lady Bay.
Between October and March we have an optional hill session on a Thursday night at Selby Road in West Bridgford. Runners leave the Water Sports Centre at 7pm and the session starts at Selby Road at 7.25pm. Some will meet the group at Selby Road.
Our track session is at Bingham Leisure Centre on a Tuesday night at 8pm. The sessions are free to club members – as above, this is by booking only at present.
The Lakeside Speed Sessions usually run throughout the summer season. More details in the spring.
